What I wanted to wear...and what I actually wore

I am always faced with a conundrum this time of year. While my body begs for cozy sweaters and multiple layers of tights, my heart is drawn toward a sunnier state of mind. What fuels these desires - the glossy magazine pages boasting transparent lace - light and flowing, cool and breezy surf inspired neons, and lush florals all the while call to me, begging to inspire. While all I want to do is dress in feminine pastels, I am bombarded by the reality that we are actually in that dreadful season called winter. Below are images of what I wanted to wear on Christmas day. This is what I thought to be a happy medium between my desires for a carefree light hearted look, and the necessity of layering in order to prevent frostbite. Outfit number 2, is me getting my head out of the clouds and dressing more appropriately for the rainy sludge that ended up being our Christmas weather. Alas...
